America’s New Pharaoh

Post 46 of 249

America’s Pharaoh is not a person or a political party. It is a power source other than God upon which people erroneously and foolishly depend, even begin to worship. It replaces God, exalting an unprincipled, unbiblical worldview. The advocates and supporters of this system consistently assault absolute principles while rejecting revealed truth. As a result, freedom is redefined as “everyone doing what is right in their own eyes.”

Those who disagree with America’s national leadership and, in particular, the statements, policies, and laws endorsed or enacted by the current administration are demonized in every possible way. Many who question the president’s views are branded a racist. If you don’t cave to their every demand, you are called a hostage-holder. If you insist on any adjustment or change, you may be called an assassin, holding a gun to the heads of Congress. If you support the ideal of marriage, you are chastised as a homophobe who opposes fairness and equality. If you uphold the sanctity of human life, you are characterized as opposing freedom of choice. If you allow your faith in Christ to actually mean something, impacting your words, actions, and beliefs, you are compared to Jihadists and labeled an enemy of America.

Well, I don’t agree with these negative caricatures. I refuse to accept the lame, dishonest labels some media pundits, representatives, and politicians try to put on principled Americans. I will not bow down to any idol that man may choose to laud as the all-provident source upon which people must learn to trust. There is no substitute for the true and living God—the Father and Creator of all life and the only way to freedom, both personally and nationally.

I will stand against the lies promoted and substituted for God’s eternal, unshakable truth and the only foundation upon which we can safely build our lives and futures. We are witnessing firsthand—up-close and personal—the exaltation of an idol that cannot succeed because it never has and never will. This idol is being presented as a substitute for God, who is the only real Provider, true Source, reliable Overseer, and worthy Father—The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Substitutes are not the true Father, not the Source and are certainly not the Way, the Truth, or the Life.

We are witnessing the enemy, the father of lies, attempting to overthrow God and exalt a new pharaoh, false kings, unreliable rulers, a federal monarchy, rotten policies, and terrible laws. We are now told if Congress has passed a law, it’s not to be challenged. That logic means we must bring back slavery and prohibition, which were once the law, and cancel a woman’s right to vote and all civil rights legislation because those changes were made to reject previous, bad laws. If this Senate passes it, we are now told, don’t dare challenge it.

We have awful laws and policies now being thrust—yes, forced—on the American people. They are not only unprincipled; they are unbiblical, ineffective, and unsustainable. If you believe in proven principles and dislike bad practices and proven-to-fail policies, you are now to be perceived as the enemy. Americans who pray and care deeply are not trying to bring the government down—they are trying to bring it under control.

Call me any name you wish. Put any misrepresentation or so-called “politically correct” label on me—but I am declaring America is being encouraged to believe and embrace lies…to support them, to cast aside our founders’ principles—including God’s Word and eternal truths—and submit to the bondage of an out-of-control state. The federal government and deceived representatives are forcing legislation, policies, and practices on American citizens, demanding that our tax dollars—our money, which God has trusted to our watchcare—be used to support worthless, godless, freedom-damaging policies, programs, and laws. This nonsense—this insanity—has to stop…and stop now! Americans must come to their senses and reject this idolatry. We must refuse to bow to any false god or to trust it as our source. Not Pharaoh, not Saul, not Nebuchadnezzar, not Babylon, not Rome, not emperors, not kings, not monarchies, not Washington or Uncle Sam. Only God!

Our federal government must be brought back under control to serve the people—not force us into servitude and submissive bondage. Paul told the New Testament Christians that the damaging results of Israel’s idolatry serves as an example for us and was written for our instruction.[i]  The government must once again be by the people, of the people, and for the people. It must never be presented as the all-provident God. It is not! We must vertically look up to God and horizontally reach out to one another in truth and love. This is the transforming power of the cross. Look up to God the Father in childlike trust, and reach out to our neighbors with compassionate love and meaningful assistance.

Now is the time to stand against the gates and forces of hell as faithful witnesses—ambassadors of truth—exalting God’s Word and life in His kingdom now. Refuse to stay hidden, keeping His truth only in church buildings! Become the blood-bought, born-again body of believers, the church of the living God, a shining city set on a hill that cannot and will not be hidden any longer! Failure to heed God’s invitation to live in His shadow and shelter while following the Shepherd will lead to the loss of freedom we have been blessed to know, and it will vanish from this earth. The Bible says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.”[ii] Believers must stop turning God’s planet over to the deceiver and another pharaoh. Let’s reclaim the land that was established and built on freedom’s promise.

In order to stop the slide and correct our nation’s course, all who have legitimate concerns must learn to work together in supernatural harmony, unity, and commitment. Thomas Paine is still right: “It is not in numbers but in unity that our great strength lies.”

Together, let’s join the apostle Paul, refusing to go down without a fight. Let it be said of each of us: We’ve proclaimed the Word and encouraged the truth. We’ve kept a clear mind, never fearing sacrifice or suffering because we were determined to fight a good fight, finish the course and keep the faith until the righteous one—the Judge—appears to grant His prize to all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.[iii]

I long to see God’s glory on the church so the world will see the real and living Jesus revealed clearly through us before He comes in glory for us!

James, Thank you for standing bold, for standing for the truth. As Christians and children of God, we are told to confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord, and to not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. The first time I heard you speak was in the
First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Fl. It was in the late 70′s. Our pastor at the time was Homer Lindsay. He has now
gone to be with the Lord. You brought tears to my eyes when you told your own personal story about your mom, and how you would not even be here, had she chosen abortion rather than life. Because of that one moment, God has had his hand on you, and the number of lives you have touched in the process is amazing. God’s love is so powerful and can still transform lives today. Yes, it saddens me that my grandchildren are growing up in a Godless world that cares more about the Kardashians than being a follower of Christ. I want to thank you for your ministry, and for the hope that
you give to so many. We must stand together. We must pray without ceasing. God bless you and your wife, and your ministry.

Thank you, Pastor Robison. As a babe in Christ, in 1979, I listened to your teaching on the radio in NYC. You are a faithful servant, one who is steadfast and one whose words have always been based on the truth that is only found in the Bible. You have never leaned to your own understanding, but, as an anointed teacher, point your listeners to scripture and invite them to research and study for themselves. Thank you for your boldness, for being the present day “voice in the wilderness.” The silence of the Church is deafening. Over the past few weeks, in particular, I have recalled hearing for the first time how “the choirs sang louder as the trains with screaming Jewish occupants enroute to Auschwitz passed by the churches.” To be sure, many courageous Germans and individual Christians, in particular, rendered help to Jews, but the Church as the body of Christ did little to save the persecuted Jews. We now remain silent as a body: watching as our nation is destroyed from within. Thank you for speaking out. I have proudly posted your message to my Facebook wall and know that friends will do likewise. God bless you and Betty in your tireless work. We thank God for you.

A very well presented article… Very well said… To all the folks out there posting negative comments, do yourselves a favour and save this article so you can come back to it later and see the truth that has been spoken here… This may be a reality in America now but don’t get happy if you not in America as this will be followed by the rest of the world… My prayer is for people to open their eyes, remove the blinkers and start standing up for what is right…

It so grieves me to hear the negative comments about this article. James, you said it clearly and as a man of God. Those who think that standing against an unjust law, or a dictatorial and immoral administration should be silenced have truly lost sight of the freedom Christ died for and for the sacrifices made by our forefathers for us to live in that freedom. God bless you and help us all!

R Julia AndersonOctober 24, 2013 at 8:54 amReply

Thank you, Marla. I, too, was so grieved by the untruthful, negative comments left here. But, we know that unless a person has ears to hear and eyes to see, they prefer the darkness. As one who was in the darkness until age 35, I personally know of what I speak. That darkness is so great, so consuming, so destructive, and I know that only the light of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit can penetrate it and bring us into a personal relationship with our Savior and Abba Father. While I pray for the lost, that does not prohibit me from speaking the truth to those who do have ears to hear and doing the research necessary to vote for those who are like-minded and very aware of what our founding fathers sacrificed to ensure that our government would be one of the People, with limited power given to the Federal government. Being a Christian does not mean that we don’t know our own history. Men and women have died for our liberty and our freedom, both on our own soil and abroad. Thank you, again.

Who among us will actually rally the troops into the stadiums and churches all over the country to pray in unity!

James, you write well informed columns each week but I keep hearing so many ‘speakers’ on tv and internet state our situation and say ‘we must pray’ …and then that’s it. No explanation or plan. Can anyone else see we need to take our prayer as a country to the next level? Joel Osteen fills stadiums all over the country and has been given an amazing opportunity but seems to only want to sell books. Same with Glenn Beck. We need rallying Generals! James, you are part of the Black Robe Regiment right? Round them up and lead us into the stadiums for unified prayer and repentance. Let’s apply the Word, our sword and fight this thing.

Red MannOctober 22, 2013 at 2:17 pmReply

Stu, using the word “sword” sounds like a call to the violent overthrow of the government, that’s sedition you know. You may use all of the persuasion by word and deed you desire to convice other people to follow your beliefs, but you may not use the power of the state. Since you have no actual evidence that your particular set of beliefs is any more true that any other set, what makes you think that yours should be the ones that everyone must follow? Coercing someone to agree with you beliefs does not make them believers.

James R. RobisonOctober 24, 2013 at 12:35 pmReply

Sorry, Red. The word “sword” in his context is a biblical reference, which is likely why you don’t recognize it. There is no violence here. You can sleep well at night.

On your argument of relativism (or is it perhaps nihilism?), if the power of the state cannot be used to enforce someone’s beliefs, why are you not opposing the current administration for using more power than ever to enforce their beliefs? Or is it simply that you only want the power of the state to enforce your beliefs?

You said, ‘We are now told if Congress has passed a law, it’s not to be challenged.’ No, that is not what we are being told. You can challenge a law and the Republicans in the house have ‘repealed’ Obamacare 42 times. However, the other two pillars of our government rejected this. You can repeal, reject, modify any law if you can get the House, the Senate and the President to pass and sign it. That is the way we’ve done it except for the Civil War. But we do not allow a small minority who cannot get their way through the legislative process to shut down the government and put the full faith and credit of the US at risk and demand a ransom for doing so.

Ah, I am not surprised they removed it. It was Obama basically saying that the new healthcare act is the law of the land, so quit trying to change, delay, or overturn it. Just live with it. You lost the election, so too bad. This becomes increasingly ironic as the president continues modifying the law (over 20 times so far) to best suit himself, even though he technically does not have the legal authority to do so.

Barbara FerraroOctober 21, 2013 at 1:21 amReply

I stand with you James Robison and I have already been speaking out about many of these things you have mentioned. I will continue to obey God’s Word rather than our own leaders because it is God I owe my alliegance to and not my government. We are told in the Bible to obey God rather than man and that is exactly what I will do. We are fighting a battle here in Hawaii also where our governor and some of our legislators are determined to foist Same Sex Marriage upon us to be accepted by us whether or not we want it. We are asking our legislators to allow us to vote on this legislation rather than allowing themselves to just go ahead and pass it without our participation. Blessedly many churches all over Hawaii are now beginning to join together in the battle to not allow this legislation to become law. We already have a law approving Civil Unions and that is bad enough. Thank you James for standing up for what is right and showing that it does not matter what labels people put upon us, the only label we need to be willing to accept is that we are God’s church and we are also God’s children.

Pastor Robison, Thank you! This article hits the nail on the head. My prayer would be for every Christian in America to read this article before the 2014 elections. Call me old fashion but I believe a person who claims to be a Christian should vote for Christian candidates or at least candidates who have Christian morals and values. When it comes to abortion and same-sex marriage, I would NEVER vote for a candidate who supported either of those issues because as a Christian that would be a direct contradiction to what the Word of God teaches. On a more personal note, I want like to thank you for your dedication to the ministry. I was saved at one of your crusades in 1978! God Bless You…

Thank you Sir for this article and your stand for righteousness and truth. While it should not matter, I need to say that I am an African American. And not only do I agree with this article, I agree with your response to Kevin Bandy on the shameful use of the race card levied against every Caucasian who opposes our President, or who has any differing philosophical, economic and/or moral views, that would seem to be insensitive to our past oppressive plight as African-Americans in this nation. This has bothered me for sometime, and I have recently written a book to speak to my people group about this sensitive issue and matter in our nation concerning race relations – called http://www.amazon.com/Religion-Racism-Reconciliation-African-American-Forgiveness/dp/148008672X/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top. Because I am first a believer and follower of Christ, and then an African American, I believe our response to Injustice, immorality and government policies should be governed by Christs’ Word, and not our race, party politics, or our past or present experiences of oppression or injustice. As Christians we must learn that our faith supersedes our race, and our past racial experiences with injustice, and that our response to our past oppressions or injustices cannot compare to what Christ endured on Calvary. Our response must coincide with His example on the Cross, when He said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do. But because of our generations preaching of a Cross-less Christ, and because of the false presentation of the message of biblical prosperity, which produces an aversion to biblical redemptive suffering, the Church of our generation has produced a people group with a victims mentality concerning our past racial oppression, that leaves us more concerned about our rights and reparations, as a people, than to our responsibilities to forgiveness and reconciliation as Christians. I’m praying for the Church of our generation – both Black and White – that we will overcome the false presentation of the gospel of our generation, and have our differences healed and reconciled through the Cross, becoming one in Christ, that we might stand United for truth in our Nation at a time where truth and righteousness have fallen prostrate in the streets in our nation. God bless you Mr Robison, as a believer in Jesus, I fully approve of this article and stand with you in this battle for truth and righteousness in our nation.

If it is not sunshine and lollipops most are not even informed as to what is happening in our country. They tell me “yes, I know bad things are happening and yes I know things are going to get worse that is why I want to enjoy it the way it is now.” It breaks my heart…and your words of truth help to heal it and keep me full of passion for God’s truth to again rule our land. Many blessings on you and Betty as you carry this message…praying many will awaken!

One question for Mr . Robison and his supporters. What do you do with Romans chapter 13?

James R. RobisonOctober 19, 2013 at 11:34 pmReply

Hopefully people read it and understand it in the full context of Scripture and Paul’s writing. I wonder if you fully understand it given the way you present the question. I can tell you one thing for sure, it does not mean every Christian is commanded by God to do whatever the local government decrees. Otherwise Christians in Nazi Germany would have been killing Christians in Communist Russia and God would have gleefully watched as both obeyed their supposed authorities. I can point you to some websites if you wish to understand the context and meaning of that passage.

John,

You pose an interesting scripture in Romans 13. I would suggest that if the Apostle Paul was making reference for the Bride of Christ to obey whatever the governing authority dictated, as you may be implying, why did Paul as well as a host of other believers in Christ, end up in prison and were martyred for the name of Jesus Christ.

The 1500 to 1600 years of dark ages during the inquisition left 68,000,000 protestants martyred because they would not bow to the politically/religious governing authority of the Roman Catholic Church. The Bride of Jesus Christ down through the church ages have always been persecuted, tortured, and martyred for living by the Revelation of Jesus Christ. If Romans 13 was to be understood as you suggest, my brother, Jesus was wrong for not fulfilling his own word by submitting to the governor’ s request and deny who he was, as the Son of God. He could have saved himself from such a horrific sacrifice and death if he just would have compromised and submitted to the Roman governing powers.

No one wants to agree with this but I think this had to happen to shake up “We the People” to stop letting others make important decisions for each of us and get back to being involved in our Country, Society, Government and most importantly our families and even churches. We are to test the spirits of the words we are given as truth against the “Real Truth, the Word of God” (Bible) when we allow others to think, and act on our behalf and then with no feedback we deserve what happens next, we have to Rise up not only as a church body but as citizens of the United States of America. We cannot sit back and rely on others to make choices and decisions for us. God is still in control but shaking the very foundation of all we believe in to get our attention and cause us to act, Money is a huge motivator unfortunately. James,
Another very good column, you hit the nail on the head again. Some are stepping up, others are not. Sad part is that the Bible predicts that many will fall away from the faith. We can ask others to step up, but we can’t force them to. The worst part is that by not stepping up (living in the power of the word), some Christians are disobeying Jesus, thus making Him sad.

Of course having a “black president” does not mean “a new pharaoh.” Your assumption and accusation is completely false. It is a state of mind, not an issue of race. Please stop shamelessly throwing around the race card every time someone disagrees with your ideas. Perhaps you missed Dr. Ben Carson, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, and Dr. Tony Evans (all minorities) saying the same thing other conservatives and Christians have said. Search for their clips on YouTube and you will see that your excitement to chalk up philosophical, economic, and moral differences to racism are cheap, transparent, and dead wrong.

I am with you Kevin Bandy. I am a Democrat and a Born-Again Christian. When Mr Bush was in office he decided to put us through a needless war and many already rich Americans became richer. These same Americans took out their factories out of the U.S. and now we have only low paying jobs to look forward to. We did not call the President names like the now President is being called. I believe that even if you don’t agree with the President, you should RESPECT the Office of the U.S. I DO NOT THINK MR. OBAMA IS MY IDOL, but he is our President. He has his views like all other Presidents before him. Not all Presidents are going to be born-again Christians,. Not everyone believes as we do. So must we call them names and try to destroy not only him but our country? And as a Christian, I believe that we must help other Americans that need help even if it’s with healthcare. Why is he being called a PHARAOH? When we had to follow the last President, was he also a Pharaoh?
Mr. Robinson: I have been donating to this ministry for awhile now because you want to help all peoples. I don’t agree with your political views but that does not stop me from helping others with your ministry. As Americans we should all be trying to help others and stop this “us against them” attitude that is now taking over the country. Not every President elected will want to stop the abortions or the gay marriages. Are we going to revolt against all of them. I only see the comments of people that agree with you. How about posting the comments that don’t agree with you?
Thank you for your time. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR MINISTRY.

James R. RobisonOctober 24, 2013 at 12:57 pmReply

Sonia,

Perhaps you missed the Bush years, but he was called among other things, a functional illiterate, Nazi, fascist, liar, war criminal, baby killer, election thief, drunk driver, traitor, tyrant, and more. Al Gore called him a “moral coward.” USA Today wrote, “George W. Bush is evil. He is a terrorist.” Kanye West proclaimed, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” I could go on, but the point is, the name-calling was championed by the left many years ago.

Aside from that, “Pharaoh” is a metaphor for any substitute of God. That’s in the column. Barack Hussain Obama is not Pharaoh. But if you put your trust in him instead of God, you are idolizing him and setting him up as a type of Pharaoh. If you did that toward Bush, you’d be setting him up as a type of Pharaoh. That’s the analogy. I hope you understand it now.

And really, for God’s sake, if we are to call ourselves Christians, but not support marriage and not oppose the murder of children, what use are we? If that’s a Christian, I don’t want to be one. Fortunately, I have a Bible that chronicles righteous men rising up against the evil of their times. That’s what I want to be: one of those men, not the ones that silently allowed evil to reign.

To your last point (and this one made me laugh), you start by writing, “I am with you Kevin Bandy.” Kevin believes that opposition to leftism is actually racism. That would certainly be in disagreement with this column. Then you end by writing, “I only see the comments of people that agree with you. How about posting the comments that don’t agree with you?” Surely you see the humor in the ridiculousness of that accusation.

GriffNovember 8, 2013 at 11:56 amReply

James,

The point of a “Christian” is not to support marriage or to oppose the murder of children, but to love one another, show mercy and share the love of Christ. Yes murder is a sin, but so are many other things. Marriage was created by God, but now we have a government institution of marriage. I’m sure God did not mean for marriage to give us tax breaks. What’s most important is forgiveness, love and mercy. I’m sure that you lie as well Mr. Robison and if that is true then you are no better than a homosexual or a murderer. I say this not be harsh, but to get the point across that sin is just that, sin.

I’m not saying to ignore the injustices of the world, but to respond with love and mercy. Does our government have its problems? Yes, but so have many others over the thousands of years. Jesus did not storm the halls of the religious leaders, but went on with his daily life of caring for others and showing them mercy. He spoke with those in power when they addressed him, but he didn’t really concern himself with those people. I’m sure the Roman government was not “Christian” or hold up the God’s principles. If I am not mistaken the Roman culture was a polytheistic pagan culture. Even the apostle Paul focused on people and believers. I haven’t read a letter written by Paul addressing the government for all of its sin.

If you want to talk politics that’s okay, but please stop speaking harshly to those who don’t agree with you. Are we not to build up one another. Some of these people may have something worth while to say if you take the time to understand them. Even in the parable of “The Good Samaritan” the one who showed mercy was the most unlikely of people.

Griff,

Jesus did actually storm the halls of religious leaders. It’s in Matthew 21. As to your point that Christians should not oppose evil, I would suggest that there is to be a balance, as summed up by Paul in Romans 12:9: “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.”

I don’t know that we can “hate” evil and not act like it. Christ spoke out against the political leadership of their day. Yes, the Romans ruled over the region, but the local leaders were Jewish, mainly Pharisees and Sadducees. Christ addressed their sin repeatedly. Later, Peter and the disciples with him flaunted the governing authorities saying, “”We must obey God rather than men.”

As for a believer being “no better than a homosexual,” you may be missing an important point. Christianity is about becoming a “new creation.” That new creation in Christ is absolutely better than one who is living a lifestyle embracing sin. The worth is not of our own, but Christ’s. Any believer living in Him is far better than one living in sin.

Jeremiah Prayed for Deliverance and Israel would not listen
Let us hope and pray the United States will turn to Christ and Walk in His Ways More and More, especially in the seats of civil authority.

Jeremiah 17:14-18 NKJV

“14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
Save me, and I shall be saved,
For You are my praise.
15 Indeed they say to me,
“Where is the word of the Lord?
Let it come now!”
16 As for me, I have not hurried away from being a shepherd who follows You,
Nor have I desired the woeful day;
You know what came out of my lips;
It was right there before You.
17 Do not be a terror to me;
You are my hope in the day of doom.
18 Let them be ashamed who persecute me,
But do not let me be put to shame;
Let them be dismayed,
But do not let me be dismayed.
Bring on them the day of doom,
And destroy them with double destruction!”

Amen Brother: BUT also remember, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is in FULL control, does ALL things well and NEVER
makes any mistakes.
America is, I believe, being punished for abortion, same sex marriage, and the promotion of violence in entertainment.

Our preachers MUST speak out in spite of 501(C3) restrictions

Until pastors start teaching how to use the power of The Word, the Name of Jesus, and binding and loosing, we are doomed unless God intercedes. I have been a member of one of the largest churches in the country for over 20 years and have yet to hear it preached from the pulpit. Thank God for TBN, Daystar, anointed writers, and the rising Apolostic movement!!

AMEN! How I have longed to hear these words from a Christian Leader!

James- you hit the proverbial nail on the head; you hit it straight, hard, and right on target. All Christians have to find enough common ground, as believers in Christ, and stand firm against the tsunami of Satan, or get washed away and buried in the lies.

Thank you so much for standing strong, and God Bless you and this nation.

Amen and amen Brother – It is hard to watch our great country fall – and harder to listen to friends and some family who believe these lies -

Amen and Amen! Well said and I agree in prayer that the Lord’s people come together in unity and bring down those things that come against the One True God! Father in heaven have mercy on Your people and put to right the hearts of the kings of this earth, line their hearts up with Your will for Your people. Put Your hedge of protection around about us and give us Your strength and Your knowledge to know that Your are in control..the hearts of the kings are in the hands of the Lord and I release Your Mighty Spirit into this situation to bring about Your glory. Blessed be the Lord, who is our salvation, our refuge and our God in whom we trust. I cry out to my God and ask that You show Yourself strong on our behalf! Fight this battle for us, we pray. I praise You for Your faithfulness to take care of Your people! Let us humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways, seek Your face, so that You can forgive us and heal our land. I declare that America is Yours Father and that You will be faithful to hear our prayers and come in like a flood and shine Your light in the darkness….reveal the darkness and let Your mighty light shine down! In Jesus name Amen and Amen!
