The Church of State

Post 96 of 181

Permit me to open with Prime Minister Cameron’s remarks concerning the riots in Great Britain. He indicated that the problem was the result of “a culture that glorifies violence, shows disrespect for authority, and says everything about rights and nothing about responsibility.” He then pointed to parental failure and the breakdown of families. Without a return to God, here in our own nation, we are headed in the same direction. In fact, we have already seen it in the past week with “flash mobs” in Philadelphia.

America’s overbearing, foolish, secular theocracy is using their “church of state” (political correctness) to cram their self-defined values down the throats of the U.S. population and place an unbearable burden on the backs of present-day and yet-to-be-born citizens. We need a miracle from above, and God offers it freely. Now is the time for Christians to become that city set on a hill that cannot be hid because God’s glory is revealed through the disciples of Jesus.

Oh, yes, these people will vote—and vote wisely. But our hope is not in any political party or politician. Our hope is in the Lord, and He works through those who love Him with all their heart and love their neighbors as themselves. These are the people who can be depended on to inspire necessary corrections.

Recently, I visited with Kevin Miller, a gifted writer, businessman, and founding dean of Colorado Christian University School of Business. He shared with me his legitimate concerns for our nation. In a new book titled Freedom Nationally, Virtue Locally—or Socialism, he expounded on these concerns and the inspiration necessary to preserve and strengthen true freedom. It was the first time I had heard the term “secular theocracy” and their enforcement arm, the “church of state.”

Kevin and I agreed that when Americans ask the government to deliver both freedom and virtue, they will ultimately get neither. The bigger government gets, the more people depend on it…the more insignificant and less productive they become.

For many months, I’ve been encouraging people to pray for the personal lives of believers, Americans and for our ship of state to turn from moral and economic danger toward safety and security. Individuals will most certainly determine their own course, but it will take wise, committed people coming together, united in purpose, to turn our nation. For the “indestructible” Titanic, it was turning from hidden icebergs—it did not, and it went down. For us, it is turning from out-of-control, all-consuming, misdirected federal government, which has continually drifted toward becoming a secular theocracy. This power is effectively using the church of state to enforce their view of essential doctrines. Let me simply touch on some of those Kevin Miller listed in his thought-provoking book:

  • The doctrine of “using deliberately mushy words and terminology.” Straightforward, accountable definitions simply don’t work to get the results desired. Terms such as “justice” won’t do. They use phrases such as “social justice” because no one can really define what they mean. They use the vitally important word “justice” within their phrase because this works to condemn people who aren’t moved to do something—something really, really important, urgent and necessary as conveniently defined by those in the secular theocracy.
  • The doctrine of “never enough.” No matter how the non-believers try to comply with the mushy definitions of needed secular virtues, as defined by the federal government, of course their efforts are never enough. More taxes and federal programs are always necessary.
  • The doctrine of the federal government always defines neighbor. The secular theocracy must have complete control over the definition and classifications of neighbor. For example, a Mexican citizen illegally in the United States taking advantage of various U.S. taxpayers’ social services—well, he’s definitely a NEIGHBOR for secular theocracy purposes. That’s because he’s a voting constituent created merely by his presence on U.S. soil. In contrast, his brother—a U.S. citizen—barely scraping by in Mexico, minding his own business—is not a neighbor. A workable and compassionate solution can be found to benefit everyone involved, but the secular theocracy would rather define those who disagree with them as racist, and a racist is always what a secular theocracy says it is to suit its purposes of the moment, time and again.

(A personal note: I see all who suffer and need help as a neighbor. I am thrilled people want to come to America to build a better life. I am, however, opposed to anyone disregarding the law.)

  • The doctrine of the federal government commands how Americans will love their neighbors. The secular theocracy social justice demands that Americans love their neighbors, but that isn’t the end of the story. Citizens must love their neighbors exactly how the federal government instructs them. Here’s an example of how loving your neighbor works. Private organizations who are not secular theocracy-friendly will be compelled to embrace the transgendered person (God made me this way), while the billionaire, driven to employ thousands of people and earn piles of money (God made me this way), will be punished by extracting taxes on the fruits of his compulsive, unappealing behavior. Of course, it doesn’t matter how God really makes a person. It’s up to the secular theocracy to determine which is good and which is bad, according to the political needs of the moment.
  • The doctrine of results don’t matter—only good intentions matter. Whether before a federal social justice program starts or after it fails, the federal government’s activities are entirely justified by its good intentions and the cost to the taxpayers is simply not important.
  • The doctrine of “rules about rules.” These rules are to be communicated to ordinary citizens. First, the rules are made by someone other than you. Second, specific enforcement of the rules is determined at the whim of someone other than you. Third, the specifics of the rules may change at any time. Fourth, the rules may change at any time without notice.
  • The doctrine that only the federal government can solve these problems. Got a business too big to fail? Got a huge social justice opportunity? Well, friend, the only answer is the federal government.

Now please keep in mind that these doctrines are being forced on us by people whom citizens put in power. Many of the people who are most greatly concerned about the problems didn’t even participate in the process of selection—and if they did vote, they voted from a very uninformed position. As a result, we now have a secular theocracy with their doctrines enforced by their church of state, which, because of their superior belief system, they are convinced they know what’s best for all the rest of us. (Let me strongly emphasize that America will never have a religious or spiritual theocracy or state controlled by religion because people of true faith would never, never tolerate it.)

It is time for people who know the truth to start demonstrating it, or we might as well reinstate Pharaoh himself, submit to bondage and get ready for the day when we will, as with Old Testament Israel, be forced to “make bricks without straw.”

You really need not pray for a deliverer. He has already come and lives in the life of every believer. It is time for us to stand up and once again embrace the freedom offered by nature’s God and our nation’s founders. It will take prayer, God’s wisdom and relentless determination to do God’s will, beginning in our personal lives. The necessary correction will come from the bottom up, from hearts committed to God—not from top down, by foolishly trusting in mere men. If we will lift God up, He will lift us up.

some people do consider president Obama as the or “a” Messiah.copyed off news report….( Addressing a large crowd behind a podium Feb. 24 with a Nation of Islam Saviours’ Day 2008 sign, Farrakhan proclaims,

“You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn’t care anything about. That’s a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking.”

Read more: Farrakhan on Obama: ‘The Messiah is absolutely speaking’ http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=77539#ixzz1VWqGQMoH )……I understand why muslims like him would support the democratic party but why would Christians ; except those who are likeminded. why would any true christian support anyone who is for abortion and homosexual unions and appoint a school safety czar that teaches sodomy to kids? this government is not making mistakes.it knows exactly what it’s doing and so do the people who vote for it.

Right on James. I believe that God’s will is to reward hard work and punish laziness (parable of the talents) but the secular theocratists have it 180 degrees backwards; they reward sloth and incompetence and punish productivity. I know, I am a skilled tradesman who can no longer find any meaningful work. I used to make good money, but now there are nothing but a bunch of McJobs out there who want you to break your back and yet pay you nothing. I won’t work if I’m not going to be compensated for my time. This parasitic socialist system we have destroys produtivity, it shuts down those who are useful. It’s hard to get motivated to work for peanuts.

Thanks for your timely article James. Once again you have hit the nail square on the head.

Just as it is not in Government to “fix” itself, it is not in the people of God (the Church) to “fix” the problem. In reality the poroblem we see in our government is nothing more than a good look into the mirror at ourselves and what the Church has become. A brief review of the blessing in De 28:1-13 and the cursings in DE. 28:15-62, along with a good look at 2 Chr. 6:21-39 and 2 Chr. 7:12-15 will show that the problem is largely self-inflicted. For some time now God had been calling for His people to comply with His requirements for the blessings in De.28 and restoration in 2 Chr.:7:14. So far our response to His call has been feeble and half-hearted at best. If we continue to ignore His invitations, I suspect He will “turn up the heat” in an effort to get our attention.

In Christ,
B.R. Clifton

Revisiting Walter Cronkite and Hillary Clinton’s call for Global Government
1999 remarks to World Federalists
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAGhtwedQSQ&feature=related

Cronkite said that a few senators who choose to pursue their narrow, selfish political objectives at the cost of our nation’s conscience was responsible for holding up the World Government. But he went further to single out the “Christian Coalition and the rest of the religious right wing” as the culprits who have KEPT the world in a state of anarchy and prevented the emergence of a “civilized force of law” administered by the United Nations. This was exactly what happened in ancient Rome. They blamed the Christians for all their problems and set out to exterminate them.

Revelation 13:7 says clearly that this system about to usurp world government will “make war with the saints and OVERCOME them.” When this system finally gets its International Criminal Court, Christians will be prosecuted as violating the Genocide Convention Treaty – HATE CRIMES against humanity.

The globalists may promise an international utopia of peace and prosperity, but they will deliver only universal slavery.

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. – Isaiah 40:31

There are literally hundreds of verses in the Old and New Testament commanding us to care for the poor and oppressed, with many of those holding the government accountable for doing so. The term, “social justice,” rather than being mushy, is in fact, very definitive and biblical. I would suggest reading the writings of Ray Bakke, Jim, Wallis, Tony Campolo,as well as many others, depending on how deep you want to go in understanding social justice.

I’m all for rolling out the welcome mat, but I’m not for being a doormat, which is what this country has turned into in so many ways.

I’m tired of hearing it and even more tired of the brainwashed people who think spending billions on illiterate people who refuse to even learn our language or play the same rules, is somehow elevating our country’s economy and intelligence. I’m tired of foreigners getting everything bought and paid for, then ripping down the American flag and talking about how they are going to take over this country.

It is a tremendous burden with little to no return except higher taxes and fewer opportunities for people with a work ethic who believe they have to actually work for something to get it, instead of being entitled to have the CHURCH OF STATE take care of them. I’m not sure why some are confused by that terminology. It makes perfect sense to me.

When your parents or grandparents are cut off from Social Security, and you are left to help support them, I hope all of you still think these freebies for foreigners are a grand idea. Because you know what? They’re not losing anything.

Good job, all you illegal immigrants, you’ve bled the system.

Just don’t expect any respect or sympathy from me.

First, I would like to state that I am a citizen and I am Hispanic but I write this as a fellow believer in Christ. The reason many of our Hispanic citizens and Christians vote for candidates like Obama and “socialist leaning” politicians is because they see this double standard amongst right wing Christians who are so opposed to “illegal aliens” being in our country but spend millions in trying to feed the less fortunate in Africa and Latin America. God is bringing us the mission field to our very doors and we as “Christians” fail to see it. Father God himself has always had a kind heart to the alien or in biblical terms the “stranger” almost as much as He has for the orphan and the widow. Let me quote some verses in case you were not aware of this:

Then the LORD said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there.
Genesis 15:12-14
“‘If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and are unable to support themselves among you, help them as you would a foreigner and stranger, so they can continue to live among you.
Leviticus 25:34-36
I was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger.
Job 29:15-17

Most of the people who are in this status want to become legal citizens but cannot do so because they broke the law or perhaps their parents were the ones who broke the law and they are now living here and don’t even know what their country of origen is like. For all intents and purposes they are Americans in thought and deed because culturally that’s all they have known. How many of us have broken other laws and God in his mercy forgave us and brought us into His kingdom. How many of those rich industrialists who you defend so much have broken tax laws lying on their tax returns. Oh, I forget they get tax breaks so they don’t have to lie.

I’m sorry to have to remind you of this but we “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” As an educator in our public schools, I don’t begrudge teaching an “illegal” child so he or she can be successful one day or even care if my property taxes are used to educate them, especially when we have to almost hog tie and drag our “legal” children to school every day. God provided us this bountiful land so we could be generous to others and Jesus went out of his way to approach the “lawbreaker”, the sinner!

I’m with you on so many things like abortion and God ordained marriage, etc. but as a Christian I cannot agree with this prejudice that the Protestant church has against these people who are typically hard-working and honest and deserve our Christian love. Yes, they have broken the law but now that they are here, I believe it would be more “Christian” of us to judge them less and to love them more, so they can be co-citizens with us in our true country of origen, the Kingdom of God.

There is a system in place, it’s just that some illegal immigrants choose to not follow it. Guess what? We have a lot of “hard-working” Americans out of work right now who get passed over for jobs because an immigrant marches in and is willing to do the job for $8 an hour when it should have paid $20 or $30. Do you understand that nearly 40 percent of the people in this country are now making $25,000 or less a year? If companies didn’t have an endless supply of people willing to work professional jobs at McDonald’s wages, the standard of living wouldn’t be going down, now would it?

In many cases, illegals are on welfare programs and working under the table, without paying for the taxes that fund the many bilingual and other programs in our schools. They are given free medical care which citizens cannot get if they lose their jobs, for example. We get turned away without insurance. They get food stamps, housing and work ID numbers with which they file fraudulent federal tax returns that cost us billions.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/23/business/economy/23tax.html

Employers are now threatened via government paperwork that states they can’t discriminate against work Visas. Remember when employers could state you had to show a Social Security card and government ID to be considered for employment? Now they can’t specify it.

So, thanks to all the fans of social justice, now every citizen also has to be run through the Department of Homeland Security, EVEN though we have Social Security cards and birth certificates to prove we were born here. We’ve always had to show proof of citizenship, but now we also have to get run through the DHS. That was not the case before or at least we didn’t have to sign agreements saying we concur with the DHS background check.

Anyone who comes wants to come here needs to follow our rules, not make up their own set of rules and cry discrimination or poor mouth when they get told no.

No other country allows this kind of free-wheeling entry and they definitely do not pay and pave the way for anyone. Try doing this is Canada, where you have to prove you have a job before they’ll grant you a work visa, and then they also demand you gain citizenship within a certain time or you get the boot.

Actually, you can’t pull this stuff in Mexico, either.

From the column above:

“For example, a Mexican citizen illegally in the United States taking advantage of various U.S. taxpayers’ social services—well, he’s definitely a NEIGHBOR for secular theocracy purposes.”

Also, don’t forget Muslims who build mosques at Ground Zero and those who want to have Sharia law practiced in the U.S. legal system.

What half-way intelligent American couldn’t look through the billions of dollars being spent on illegals from all corners of the globe and not see the lunacy and the true agenda? They have classes in the Middle East on how to get funding from the U.S. This came from a friend who did international nursing and the information is easily verified.

Our leaders are having no discussions to cut the funding for the many illegal immigrant programs here and abroad. Instead, the Church of State wants to go after funding for senior citizens and the disabled via Social Security cuts. These are our most vulnerable people.

If this ever happens, it is equal to condoning the genocide of millions of people. What can be said for a society that is not openly rebuking this — even if it is only currently a talking point?

Remember the Council of 13 (Obama and 12 Congress members) now control all of our nation’s budget issues, with Obama having the ultimate veto, or if you will, dictatorial power. This was put into place as law under all of the hoopla over the annual raising of the debt ceiling.

Beyond the Church of State is the global theocracy — international banking institutions and other power brokers that orchestrate the world economy from behind the scenes. Its “mark” is seen through millions of out-sourced jobs, the influx of illegals with no language skills and therefor a total lack of understanding of what is going on, and trillions of taxpayer dollars that were handed over at figurative gunpoint – just to name a few.

The banks — “too big to fail” — threatened the sky would fall if they didn’t get their trillions. In what might well be the biggest con ever pulled off in the history of the world, they got it. With an assist from our government, they succeeded in compounding the country’s debt to unbelievable levels. Now we have a lower credit rating, too, and can spin our wheels even faster as we try to dig our way out of this self-induced disaster.

People who do not call this system out for what it is are simply concerned with saving their worldly riches as the world economy crumbles. They are not necessarily deceived. They are willfully participating in the deception by failing to warn others.

So! God bless you and thank you, James, for being “real.”

I don’t understand what you are trying to say. Church state? State Church? Like they have in China or England? You believe people are worshipping the government – worship is a biblical church word and you haven’t shown at all how it applies concretely to modern society and governance. I dare you to give a real concrete example of someone “worshipping” the government. If you are so concerned about people “worshipping” the government be concerned about hyper nationalism. Why don’t you worry about the people who go on and on about American Exceptionalism – wouldn’t that fit the definition of worship, or does your denomination use the word worship in a different way?
Listen – using church or Bible language to try and describe the modern government is like using a Shakespearean Sonnet to describe a medical procedure. No on is bowing before the great idol the statue of liberty, no one is making sacrifices to the statue of Abraham Lincoln, and people are lining up for confession at the Library of Congress. The act of worshiping God has nothing to do with living in a community, participating in government, or having a political debate. FIND BETTER WORDS

The writers of the Scriptures spoke about “Ba’al”. A very interesting term, because if you read every archeology text and history book that you can dig up, you will not likely find a god specifically called by that name. I submit to you that “Ba’al” is not as much a real god as a concept. Ba’al means “Lord”, in the sense of someone who rules over you whose every word you must obey. In other words, worship of Ba’al is worship of government. Ba’al was not as much a single god as he was a dominant culture. And not much has changed in last 3,000 years. The biblical writings themselves reveal this continual war between government and the Creator’s followers. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to prostrate themselves to the statue that represented the statue of the Babylonian king, the government, and were thrown into a furnace. Daniel also refused to alter his prophecies to favor the government and was thrown into the lion’s den. Daniel’s beast, and his statue, are symbols of human government. The various metals of the statue are various forms of government. Much of Jesus’ teaching was about how and when to comply with the ruling government without betraying Yahweh. But even the seemingly unthreatening teaching manner of Jesus was seen as threatening to the authority of government.
The record of the slaughter of 11 of the 12 apostles confirms this.

The founders of what we now know as the United States did a very interesting thing. They crafted a mechanism by which they hoped to bind government and keep it from oppressing the citizen. They sought to “bind down Ba’al”. As best they could they attempted to hamper the ability of “the King” to impose his will on the people. No, it was not perfect. There were still grevious evils done in this America. But they set a model, probably as close to one as had ever been attempted, to that “non-government of Israel” which preceeded Saul. And like the Israelites, Americans have been clamoring for a “king” ever since. They have been trying with all their might to “go back to Egypt”, in terms of style of government. They have been “worshipping Ba’al”! Not by adapting an eastern religion or paganism or some such other thing, but by worshipping the Great Government. Even when it has no power to do any good, just like that Golden Calf in the wilderness many years ago. Another example set in scripture, was that the children of Israel were never liberated by Yahweh until they stood up, armed themselves, and liberated themselves.

Just as Thomas Jefferson stated that the government which governs best governs least, he also stated that “the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” It was true in the time of Gideon, and true in the time of the Maccabees. It is true also today. Christians who believe the Bible are an unpopular lot today. If they speak in accordance with the Word of God they may well find themselves being called “unpatriotic” and “judgmental.”
We must be ready to “count the cost” by speaking the truth!

Thanks James for a very interesting and thought provoking message. You are right James political correctness or the term you use Church of State is out of control not only in America, but in Australia as well as other westernised countries. I like the way you started your message with David Cameron’s speech concerning the recent riots in London. He talks about a culture that glorifies violence, doesn’t respect authority, promotes their rights and rejects responsibility for their actions. He also mentioned parental failure and breakdown of families. I believe once discipline is taken out of education and the family home, rebellion and violence is glorified and acceptable. Unless the nations turn back to God, these problems will escalate and increase. Keep speaking out.

If Americans have repeatedly voted for people who establish a system destined for bankruptcy, you cannot blame the immigrant who comes here looking for a better life. The vast majority are hard-working, honest people who humble themselves for any means of providing for their families. Their lives are not all “freebies.”

I agree that our system is broken. We have jobs for people. We eagerly pay them for their work. Some companies abuse their situation. And politicians use them like pawns. They are not the perpetrators of the injustice, they are caught in a bad, corrupt system. Blame the voters who elect the rule-makers, not the immigrant who’s just trying to survive.

I read Kevin’s book and it is spot on. When I was growing up families, neighborhoods, churches and to some degree small local govermnents were the effective drivers of helping to mold our virtues and values and it worked quite well. However now the federal government far oversteps it’s bounds and tries force it’s view of a virtuous society on us, usually by passing laws that imposes the wrong kind of values and are counter to our nations heritage; and actuually reduces our freedoms.

I included a link where I bought my book. it’s a good and necessary read.
