Following the Under God Indivisible conference on July 27, God placed some thoughts in my mind. I was led to write them down. To my amazement, the thoughts rhymed, and I realized I had just written my first poem. I believe the phrases are true, and they certainly express my hopes and prayers.
The Next Great Awakening
The spiritual awakening revolution has begun.
It will not be fought with sword or gun;
not with horses of flesh or mere men on the run,
but in the Holy Spirit power of God and His Son.
And the outcome is certain for the battle is won.
We must have a great spiritual awakening. There is no substitute for what God can do. Men and women filled with all the right desires and goals cannot accomplish the necessary and significant transformation without wisdom that comes from above. No government or any rule of man will prove effective without understanding the importance of the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God.
The spiritual awakening revolution has begun…
The spiritual awakening I reference begins with an acute awareness not only of what must be addressed, but of the spiritual realm that influences all we observe. The invisible moves the visible. The clash between good and evil, light and darkness, has been and will continue to intensify. The conflict we find ourselves in is indeed a revolution, and the battle will prove fierce—as a matter of fact, so fierce that people of faith should become keenly aware that they must be “suited up” in the armor of God in order to be more than conquerors and overcomers in this life.
It is a revolution because both sides are committed to their cause. Both believe they have the answer. Those who are deceived are so confident they are right that they unwittingly devote their lives to a deceptive, damaging, deadly, and ultimately destructive cause. As with the communists, they have sold out, and they march to change the world not knowing they are destroying meaningful life, substituting a relationship with the living God for hopes and dreams based on foolish fantasies and promises. They choose to depend on an all-powerful state.
Years ago, a man walked through Moscow’s Red Square in tattered clothes. A communist said, “Communism can put a new coat on that man.” A Christian standing nearby said, “Yes, but the grace of God can put a new man in that coat.” This is forever absolute truth.
It will not be fought with sword or gun…
The revolution is one of love, revealed through compassionate expressions. Ambassadors of life will stand with unwavering convictions and unshakable faith. The greater the pressure, the more highly refined are the lives committed to God’s kingdom purpose. This revolution will not be won with mere physical strength. Tragically, there will likely be riots, and other expressions of animosity, hatred, and violence. Although control is necessary and protective walls must be maintained, the battle will be won with the sword of the Spirit (God’s word) and His light piercing the darkness.
True believers will interpret the vision of the Lord and His will for His kingdom purpose to come right here and right now—on earth, as it is in heaven. God’s kingdom is first established within the life of every believer. That kingdom is the rule of God: first in us, then in our families, and then the influence of that rule affecting our neighbors, communities, cities, states, and ultimately our nation. Only transformed people can help transform and correct our nation’s perilous course.
Constantine saw a great vision and misinterpreted it. He took the wrong cross and put it on a banner. He took up the wrong sword—a physical sword—against the wrong enemy. When misinterpreted, even a good, true, heavenly vision can set us back and hinder the kingdom purpose of God. The vision must not be misinterpreted today. We must become the light piercing the darkness, standing together, the city set on the hill that cannot be hidden. As this light shines, it will glorify our Father in heaven, and people will see Him as the wonderful God, personal Father and friend He longs to be.
Christine Caine was recently on LIFE Today. She is part of the Hillsong outreach birthed in Australia that has swept the world. She is now focused on helping victims of human trafficking and making a tremendous impact on the United States, as well as other nations. She shared with us a brief shopping trip she took to Wal-Mart one night. She commented, “Wal-Mart is a fun place. You can go in and buy anything you want. You can buy groceries or underwear. Anything.” Her 3-year-old daughter was with her and found a flashlight she wanted. She kept turning it on and off in the store but couldn’t see its effect because of all the bright, fluorescent lighting in the store. When they were checking out at the register, Christine heard her daughter’s tiny voice over all the other sounds. “Mommy, let’s go find the darkness so we can shine the light.”
“Oh my goodness!” Christine exclaimed. “Out of the mouths of babes…” How true were the words of that little 3-year-old. God has left us here to find the darkness and shine the light of His love.
Not with horses of flesh or mere men on the run…
We will not win this battle by boasting in our numerous warriors or, as the Old Testament referenced, “trusting in horses and chariots.” In the Old Testament, the strength of horses was often used as an allegory representing the flesh, just as Egypt depicted the bondage we find ourselves in when we depend on the systems of this world or the power of some type of Pharoah for our security.
The world teaches people today that success comes from having the right connections. The New Testament teaches clearly that success comes through connectedness. Christians are members of the body of Christ. Every member must fit together properly, supplying the need to every other member while they are submitted first to each other and ultimately to the head. In order for the hands of God to work properly, the lower and upper arm must be properly connected and submitted to the head in order to express the very heart of our Father. We have seen the truth of this in mission outreaches around the world. We don’t duplicate efforts; we connect, undergird, and enable, allowing the power of God’s love to flow like a mighty river.
The battle we face today will not be won because we simply outvote those with whom we disagree. When we live the way we should, we assume responsibility. We must choose our leaders wisely by becoming well-informed and guided by principles, not manipulated by parties or personalities. We must be committed totally to the cause of Christ and refuse to ever back down. Everything accomplished must be in the Holy Spirit power of God our Father and His Son. This is the Trinity revealed.
We have a relationship with the Father. When Jesus taught us the model prayer, he started with “Our Father, which art in heaven,” making it very clear we are talking to someone with whom we have a personal relationship. Then in His own prayer in John 17, He once again emphasized the importance of this relationship. He prayed all believers would be one with the Father as He is. What a wonderful, meaningful relationship! Jesus didn’t move unless He saw the Father directing His steps. He only did those things which pleased the Father, and His life was filled with overwhelming, indescribable love, joy, peace and power. He longs for us to have that relationship.
In order to know the Father in a personal way, we must accept the redemptive work of the Son. We must literally be born from above—born of the Spirit, transformed by the power of God, washed in the water of His Word and truth so we become renewed in our minds. We’re talking about transformation that comes through Christ. There is no substitute for it—religion will not suffice. Our own efforts will always come up far short.
And then He said it was necessary for Him to leave and send another one just like Him—the paraclete, the Holy Spirit, to live in us so that He would be with us at all times, in all ways, accomplishing His kingdom purpose.
But in the Holy Spirit power of God and His Son…
What God is about to do will be the result of Holy Spirit power! (I encourage you to go to www.lifetoday.org/undergodindivisible and listen to Sammy Rodriguez’ message, where he talks about the power of the Holy Spirit necessary to make the changes we must witness. You would be inspired listening to the whole conference.) Jesus was actually informing His disciples that the truths He left them with would produce such indescribable blessings and benefits, it would be essential for them to be filled with the Holy Spirit in order to handle them. How true this is!
When the truth makes us free, we must be ever-aware how easy it is to abuse the blessings freedom offers. As a matter of fact, without Holy Spirit enabling, it will be abused. While we wait for the future kingdom to come, we are commissioned by God to live in His presence and in His power in the present. We need fear no evil, for He is with us. We can live in personal victory—but not without a battle. We are freed to fight and win the battle, to move from victory to victory.
The victory He offers can lead us to find realistic, effective solutions to all the challenges we face personally and nationally. We resist evil. We cannot destroy it—we overcome it. When we recognize that Christ in us is the hope of glory, we will find ourselves as believers moving in holy harmony and supernatural unity, adorned in His glory. When Christ comes in glory, He will come for a church clothed in His glory.
And the outcome is certain for the battle is won…
We know who wins, but this is no time to sleep. As the apostle Paul challenged all believers, we must put on the whole armor of God, resist the evil one, fight the good fight of faith as soldiers of the Lord Jesus, as more than conquerors and overcomers in this life. Now is the time to arise and shine with the glory of the Lord upon us. For this is the day of a great awakening, and in obedience and commitment, we will rejoice in it and allow Him to accomplish His kingdom purpose through us. To Him be the glory and honor, forever and ever.

It’s time to prepare to battle for our freedom like we have not had to since the first revolution. We are a country of citizens with consciences and we should be willing to sacrifice whatever is necessary. So, we can have the hope of a better future for our children and grandchildren. Every Christian should know is that Biblical Christianity was the driving force behind the key leaders of the American Revolution. The Great Awakening may have touched as many as three out of four American colonists. The Revolution was effected before the War commenced. The Revolution was in the mind and hearts of the people and change in their religious sentiments of their duties and obligations. There is no question that the Declaration of Independence was, to those who signed it, a religious as well as secular act, and that the Revolutionary War had the approbation of divine providence. They had won it with God’s blessing and afterwards, they drew up their framework of government with God’s blessing. The vast majority at the Constitutional Convention (55 delegates) were members of Protestant churches: 28 Episcopalians, eight Presbyterians, seven Congregationalists, two Lutherans, two Dutch Reformed, two Methodists, two Roman Catholics, three Deists, one unknown. We must have the moral foundation and courage to root out the failed leadership who will impose dictatorship right here in America. Inactivity by citizens can be more harmful to society than a revolution. Americans have a duty to not sit idly by and enable the government to be an agent of injustice. Civil disobedience is the active refusal to obey certain laws, demands and commands of a government, without resorting to physical violence. A person is not obligated to devote his life to eliminating evils from the world, but he is obligated not to participate in such evils. Peaceable or not, the United States has a long history of revolutionary and reactionary behavior. Thomas Jefferson was one such rebel. What country before ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?
Wake up Church, help wake up America …we are almost out of time!!!
My Dear Bro. James,
I believe your inspired words came from the very heart of God. Thank you my brother for yielding your heart and life to our precious Lord. My prayers are with you.
The sacred scriptures teach us that every failure of man is the result of turning away from the vision and revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. His vision and revelation was expressed in John chapter 1 as he wrote “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not…” His creation in Genesis chapter 1 (the world was made by him) was the divine manifestation of his vision and revelation…and everything was good. He desired that his vision and revelation continue in the lives of all of his creation, which of course included Adam and Eve. However, Satan through the serpent, deceived Eve into receiving another gospel, another Jesus, another philosophy, another kingdom, another government, and another revelation and vision contrary to the original revelation and vision given by our Lord.
Since the fall of Adam and Eve, Satan has worked diligently to deceive humanity and fulfill his own vision and revelation by doing that which is right in his own eyes. He worships the works of his hands, he follows a way that seems right, he calls evil good and good evil, he puts darkness for light and light for darkness, and puts bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. He puts the trumpet to his mouth and blows an uncertain sound, he blasphemes the Spirit, he despises divine wisdom, he rebels and transgresses the Holy Word, he is impudent and stiffhearted, he is proud, speaks with a lying tongue, has hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that devises wicked imaginations, his feet is swift in running to mischief, he is a false witness that speaks lies, and he sows discord among brothers. He comes as an angel of light and transforms his ministers into deceitful workers of unrighteousness. These things must be, but the scripture continues in John chapter 1…
“But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” The new birth unveils the vision and revelation of Jesus Christ, which is the great awakening, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Peter identified God’s revelation and vision and said “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus said “You are blessed Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven…and upon this rock (the rock of a personal revelation of Jesus Christ who is the anointed word given by the Father) I will build my church; and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. And I will give unto you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever you will bind on earth will be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you will loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Peter was given charge of the great awakening, the revelation of Jesus Christ, that Satan cannot destroy. On the Day of Pentecost, Peter fulfilled the revelation and vision of Jesus Christ, which Satan had worked so hard to annihilate at Calvary. Peter had the revelation, he had the keys, and he knew where the door was to the kingdom. In the third hour of the Day of Pentecost Peter started the great awakening. By revelation he took those divine keys and said “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God will call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked and perverse generation.”
This is where the battle rages. Satan wants to keep mankind from the vision and revelation of Jesus Christ and keep humanity imprisoned to the carnal and deceptive philosophies of this earthly government and religious traditions void of the power of the Spirit. Man cannot see the revelation of Jesus Christ because he rejects the new birth. He fails to use the right keys due to the false teachings of Babylon’s perversions of the Word of God. He cannot find the Door to the sheepfold as a result of Satan’s deception of another Jesus. And, man does not enter the Kingdom because of the seduction of Satan to accept this earthly kingdom as a substitute for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
As our brother James stated so emphatically “We know who wins, but this is no time to sleep. As the apostle Paul challenged all believers, we must put on the whole armor of God, resist the evil one, fight the good fight of faith as soldiers of the Lord Jesus, as more than conquerors and overcomers in this life. Now is the time to arise and shine with the glory of the Lord upon us.”
THANK YOU DETECTIVE FOR YOUR AWESOME EVALUATION OF PASTOR JAMES ROBISON’S COMMENTARY ON “THE GREAT AWAKENING”. WITHOUT MEN LIKE JAMES AND YOURSELF, OUR COUNTRY WOULD BE DOOMED.WITH GOOD CHRISTIAN LEADERS, I AM CONFIDENT IN THE LORD JESUS THAT A GREAT REVIVAL WILL HAPPEN HERE AND, IN OTHER COUNTRIES WHO HAVE THEIR GOVERNMENT’S LEADERSHIP POISONED BY THE ENEMY OF OUR SOULS!
Excellent message James. You are right James your nation America, and mine Australia, and all the other nations around the world definitely need a great awakening to sweep over them and pierce the darkness through the light of God’s love and the Holy Spirit.
L.Agius (Sydney, Australia)
I pray for a revival in our nation to begin very soon. The need is desperate.
Thank you my dear brother for your comments. May the Lord Jesus bless you and yours and continue to lead you and guide you…
Dear James, Thank you for this inspiring and truthful message. I’m not really sure where to begin…so I’ll simply jump right in. Some time ago, you posted a message on where are the prophets/pastors. I wanted to respond then, but now reading this I feel I must.
I’ve never liked calling myself a prophet, though all signs point that way since childhood, and when I speak in the church, this is what I am called. I guess I feel I am simply someone who loves the Lord very much and receives messages from Him from time to time. But I believe what I need to share with you today is important.
And it is this: Very, very few people want to hear the message of the prophet, not even pastors. If I had a dollar for every message God had for the church and there was no room, no time in the service for the Holy Spirit to move or the prophet to speak, I’d be rich. No room at the inn for Jesus and not much has changed over 2,000 years later. I’m sure Im not the only prophet God brought to a church, a people, or even a pastor with a message of revival, and was turned away, ridiculed, even threatened. It’s not fun being a young woman with a message from God for a pastor, and being treated like you are trying to seduce him, up to no good. Being treated as though you are trying to cause trouble at a Christian school because you are being faithful with a rebuke from the Lord…if there are other prophets out there like me we are as wanderers, without a home, being chased from place to place with barely two nickels to rub together.
James- we need a revival and an awakening but it must start with repentance…my experience these last ten years is that very few Christians want to repent. They want “blessed” with material things, healings, job promotions etc. They do not understand – or do not care- that repentance is the fruit of God’s love! Please let me share a vision with you that God gave me several years ago:
I was out walking at night in an American suburb with Jesus. He would stop at different houses along the way, tell me to knock on their door and give them a message from Him. Door after door was opened, then immediately shut on me. No one wanted to hear His message- and these were Christians. They kept telling me they were happy with the way things were and I knew they wanted me to leave- quickly. Well, I was feeling very down. I thought my failure was my fault. I thought I was giving Jesus’ message the wrong way. So Jesus took me out of the suburbs and we began climbing a tall mountain together. The higher we went, the more beautiful the night sky and all its stars…but something felt very wrong about it. When we reached the top of the mountain Jesus spread out his arm over the valley below where the houses were…it was NOT night at all!!! The Christian homes were all under the darkness of the enemy! He had put stars in the sky and given them every comfort- they were asleep…the American church was sound asleep!! And ANGRY about being woken up!
And this has continued to be my experience today. Listen, I know we can’t have people running amok calling themselves prophets on every corner…there are many false prophets out there…but the real ones are out here too…and few people are listening…many in the church do not even believe we exist in modern times. Most people who know me do not know I am a prophet. They cannot handle it.
I guess Im telling you this because someone respectable needs to address it. I know God will open the door in His time…and nothing will stop Him. But if other prophets are having the same experience I am, what God wants to say now to individuals, to the local church!! is going unsaid or is being denied, ridiculed etc by other Christians or people who call themselves Christians- the wolves in sheeps clothing.
Can you pray for this? Can you discuss this with other pastors…ask them if they have a place in each service for a prophet to speak…do they even recognize prophecy? This is part of our problem James…unless you’ve sold a book or are a pastor, no one is listening to you. That’s not how God works. Sometimes it’s just the still small voice, from the young woman/man at the back of the church, that has the message, and it’s being silenced.
